One of a Kind PR is a  music publicity company founded in 2025 by Lucy Hurst (previously of But i Like You PR, Matador, Thrill Jockey, Fire). With 25 years of experience in music press, Lucy is passionate about spreading the word about artists she loves. A natural networker, Lucy has built up an impressive database of contacts and is constantly exploring new avenues for coverage, bringing people together to find the perfect fit. Always going above and beyond expectations, with years of knowledge across the industry, Lucy has also been involved with managing artists such as The Hanging Stars and Arborist.

Lucy began her career as a publicist at Matador Records working with bands such as Yo La Tengo, Interpol, Cat Power, Cornelius, Sleater-Kinney, Neko Case, The New Pornographers, M Ward, Mission of Burma, Dead Meadow, Pretty Girls Make Graves and Guided By Voices. She moved to New York and did publicity for Matador and The Beggars Group whilst there, with artists such as Dizzee Rascal, MIA, Belle and Sebastian, Electrelane, Ratatat, Stephen Malkmus). On returning to the UK, she then went on to set up her own PR company But I Like You and worked in house at Thrill Jockey (Tortoise, The Sea and Cake, Future Islands, Arboretum) and Fire Records (Josephine Foster, Giant Sand, Opossum). Over the years, Lucy built up a loyal client base of returning bands and labels, working again with Beggars on their Arkive reissue label, had a retainer with Fortuna POP!, worked on many projects with Merge, Sub Pop, Flying Nun, New West, Loose, Western Vinyl, Paradise of Bachelors and bands such as The Wave Pictures, Allo Darlin, The Hanging Stars, Darren Hayman, Steve Adams, Buffalo Tom, The Lovely Eggs, Joanna Gruesome, The Goon Sax, Haiku Salut, Herman Dune, Crystal Stilts, Talulah Gosh, Pete Astor, Let’s Wrestle, Lucy Dacus, Butcher Boy, The Just Joans, The Chills, Comet Gain, El Goodo, Kacy and Clayton, Ladybug Transistor, The Leaf Library, Martha, The Spook School, Mr Ben and the Bens, Peggy Sue, Princess Chelsea, Sarah Nixey, Shearwater, Shonen Knife, Shrag, Six by Seven, Spoon, Withered Hand, Woodpigeon, Wreckless Eric and many more.

After a short break to raise a family, Lucy set up One of a Kind PR as an outlet to help with local small businesses and community projects with publicity. However, the pull of music is always strong and she is now taking the business forward into working with bands and musicians once again.
